NC6120 Laptop Problem
Please.....thanks for any help.
I have an NC6120 (HP) laptop. I am trying to load an OS (XP Pro) and I get an error.
A Problem has been detected.
Technical Information:
***STOP: 0x0000007E (0x0000005, 0xF75DD0BF, 0xF7A29208, 0xF7A28F08)
*** pci.sys - Address F75DD0BF base at F75D6000, datestamp 3b7d855c
I got this error when I first tried to reload an OS. The system had been running slow so I thought I would clean it up. When I tried to load from the CD, I got the error. I know my OS CD is good (tried in another machine).
Things I have tried
Removing the CMOS battery
I thought I would blow out the drive (since I wanted to reload the OS anyway) so I ran DBAN and cleaned the disk completely.
Neither helped and the problem persists.
HP Compaq NC6120 with a Centrino processor.
Any help with what the error means, I have heard it could be memory, would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks to the admins for the site and I look forward to hearing any suggestions.
