its possible that the readings are off

however, do ensure that there is no dust in the cpu heatsink. also, what kind of cooling do you have? stock heatsink?

if you arent experiencing major slowdowns, its likely the readings are off. best way to know is to touch the heatsink and to see how hot it is.

if you have arctic silver 5, it would greatly help reduce your temperatures.

I do experience major slowdowns when the temps reach 90 Celcius or more. Even CPUz tells me that the CPU downclocks from 3.06 Ghz to 1.86 Ghz.

In the BIOS at start up, the computer is 30-38 Celcius but when i let the computer run 5 minutes in the BIOS, the temperatures reach 70-78 Celcius!!!

I cleaned it in March but the temps were simliar. There is a bit of dust but it wouldn't effect it much though.

I have a STOCK Cooler.

coukd be speedstep is being activated to downclock the cpu because of heat. Reapply the heatsink compound to the processor. Or it could be that the bios is set to power saving mode

I just used Throttle Watch and played 2 Laps in Live For Speed. The Processor is indead throttling 100% due to the temperatures.

Lately, i've observed the temperatures going up these few days.

Make sure the heatsink is firmly attached to processor and its free of dust, if possible reinstall it with a fresh coat of thermal paste like artic silver or something

Sometime i will do that but after i purchase a new PC within these few weeks.

My PC has shut itself down 3 times this December due to overheating eventhough it overheats EVERYDAY at idle.

I'm looking at the Frequency ThrottleWatch is giving me and i'm wondering WTF is going on here. It tells me its running at 1.5 Ghz while RightMark CPU Clock Utility and CPUz is telling me i'm running at 3.06 Ghz... These are normal clocks too. When it throttles, the clock shows 927 Mhz in ThrottleWatch and 1.87 Ghz in CPUz and Rightmark CPU Clock Utility.

Thanks for the help though there is still more to answer
Tim
