First Look:Rampage II Extreme X58 and few other goodies...
I have had not had too much time with this board yet but I must say from what I have seen it is simply incredible when it comes to meeting today's extreme overclocker's needs.
I was going to write a nice in depth article on it but I am tired from tweaking all day. I will keep all my findings updated in this thread. Here we go  Lets open the box and see what is under the hood  right off the bat I could tell that this was a very large ATX board, even bigger the it's older brother X48 RE. Now to open her up and get some close up shots   It's gonna be a while before I can sign this board   Look at that. Two separate BIOS chips. Always nice to have a second one in the wing when you corrupt the first.(Which happened to me on it's older brother plenty of times)  This is so cool. They have actually added solder points and connections with probelts that you can hook your multimeter directly into. One nice thing they have added to the tweak it function is that you can now use your keyboard if for some chance you can not get to the toggle switches on the board(Which should never be a problem since this board has no business EVER being put in a case.      and some shots of the goodie bag that it came with  I must say that I am now in heaven with the fact that I can run crossfire AND SLI(triSLI) on this board.

 Now I needed a CPU and in my mind I did not have much choice so I decided to with this.....  Some pics including compared to Q9450.

 Well, the only thing left is the ram and video card choice. I picked up a set of Crucial DDR3 Tracers PC12800 that have GTR IC's and can really take a thumping at low voltages. As for the video card choice. Well let's say I really wanted to try SLI so I did a SLI budget buy.....  Could not leave AMD out now could I??  thought I would have two did ya?? Get a grip, were in a recession for christ sakes One last pic of the initial setup. (No vista not installed, actually was from another benching session where no drivers were installed)Yes I'm lazy, I know   and a little teaser....  btw. in case your wondering I did this run at a higher speed and on less voltage. Hhhhhmmm Acrylic will let people see what they are missing out on........ but the potential static problems and not to mention thermals issues that it will cause.. hhhhmmmm, since this is an all out showpiece then maybe it should be a glass case, you know like a thin tall tropical goldfish bowl.............
Wait..... that even allows the prospect of immersed water cooling

Even better still lets build on that and add goldfish or other freshwater (not saltwater it would not work well with the electronics and copper) to the immersed water cooling tank.
People will be asking where did you get that new PC Saver from LOL Wait add flourescent lighting and fish whose colours react to flourescent lights Brian not only are you on the brink of creating the worlds best benchmarks you could also be making trully artistic computers that really work - and them some.
