You really need to get a loop together to cool your NB

Or at least some aftermarket cooling for all of the goodies on your board

yeah but it has to be off a little bit as Dry Ice maxes out at -78.5 C. This the first board out of four that has incorrectly shown the temp at idle/default vCore. At the same time it was the first BIOS I have ever seen that let you adjust the Temp for calibration purposes.

I never did get see idling temps at 1.7+ vCore as every time it crashes it needed a CMOS clear to reboot(Do that 100+ times in a night and you can fly through the BIOS w/ your eyes closed)

Although it would boot up to 595FSB I never went into the BIOS to check temps under testing settings.

You know the Chipset stayed quite cool as compared to the last DFI board I used. It was not until I pushed the NBv to 2.15 did it start to get warm. Instability was shown at this setting though and I stuck w/ 1.95 for the duration of the session. I could not help wondering if for some reason the that if the NB had some "extra cooling" that I could break the 600FSB wall that I was experiencing. Looking across the other forums and the results though it was apparent that this 600FSB wall was wide spread only giving way to use of LN2

I am going to do a second session and apply all Super PI tweaks to see if I can get it down under 8.5 seconds. I was told also that with these tweaks I could also get the 32M run down closer to 9 min. from a certain well known Ocer over at another forum that took time to give me some well taken advice

I must say brian.. I am very very impressed. You really should get a real thermometer for that set up though


And ya.. tweak it because if you look at the other scores around you.. then better ones are at about the same frequency and the ones right behind you aren't too far behind.

Well I did run a second session tonight and unfortunately I could not make out any better w/ the tweaks......They ended up not making a difference as in the 1M it was actually slower thus making me want to see Snod even more now implement a Tweaks guide into his project.

I decided to run some 3D Marks just for shits and giggles and this is what I came up with

The score itself was disappointing. My sli setup scored 16000 w a 3500MHz quad.

I was much more pleased with this score. Seemed to be more in line w/ scores over at hwbot.

Now that is more like it.

Wish I could of broke 90k but it seems that for some reason when pushing 5GHz+ my board would not respond well to pushing the PCIe frequency by crashing limiting my VC OC. Plus I would need better than stock cooling on the card and maybe a volt mod.

*UPDATE*

My first E8400 #746A381 was walling right at 600FSB so I decided to go out and pick up another one to see if it could be improved with the batch I believed to be good.

I could not run any 32M runs on this board which the lowest I would attempt was at 575FSB. It would just shut off completely when you started the run.

I am assuming it might have had something to do with the fact that the socket is missing two pins and that seven other pins had to be re-bent into position due to a battle that my mobo got into with my daughter and a plastic doll and lost.

If this was a factor in the 32M run issues I can only assume.

Wow... missing and bent pins and you still hit 616mhz FSB

Need to slap that on a fresh board and see what it can do

Oh and you still need a sub 10s on air run How was the chipset holding up temp wise?

The chipset is very cool. At about 22 degrees celsius. I believe it too as when I put my finger to it it is quite cool. That's at 1.9v too.

I honestly never tried the sub t3n second on air but I suppose I could just to see if any of the chips could do it.
