Resistance and Power
I'm not big with electricity, so if anyone could help me out with this it'd be greatly appreciated.
I want to power 10 IR LEDs from batteries. If possible, I'd want to stick with 1 or 2 AAA's, but if they need more then 3v then I can use a 9v battery.

Making Christmas lights, are we?
First, you need to find out the power requirements of the LEDs in question. If you are using different colors/types, then that can complicate the issue.
Most indicator-type LEDs run at around 3.3vdc, IIRC, but 3vdc will work. That would be two regular alkalines (AAA, AA, C, D cells) in series. You will also have to see how much current draw you will have-- since you would likely be stringing all these LEDs in parallel, you need to add up the current of each LED in the parallel branch to find the maximum current draw (then add 10% for good measure). Your battery will have to be able to sustain that amount of current draw (Duracell data sheets. Your power will be total current load times voltage). You can increase your battery life by placing more batteries in parallel (or series-parallel, in this case-- two sets of two batteries in series connected in parallel will approximately double your battery life).
