PSP Tilt Sensor

I posted this project on psp-programming.com's forum, but I didn't get very far. I wanted to revive the project, so here I am. Basically, I'll need someone to check this schematic for me (I made it in Flash, so work with me :\) to make sure it's correctly setup. Also, I heard that there is a microcontroller that can be programmed with a very simple do-it-yourself programmer. I'm not exactly sure what it is, but if anyone can help, I'd appreciate it. As you can see, I would like to just be able to read the output from the 2-axis accelerometer into the microcontroller, then into the PSP's serial port. And I'm going to check the USB or serial port for a +3V voltage so I can eliminate a battery. Anyway, please get back to me. Thanks.

I understand that this thread is quite old, but since this particular forum doesn't seem to get that much traffic, I hope no one will be bothered. I hope this still is of some help for the original poster.

I didn't check the datasheet for the ADXL202 chip, but judging by the code and the pin names I'd guess this is a 2-axis accelerometer by Analog Devices. However, the fact that there are separate outputs for x and y suggests that this is an analog chip. A quick look at the SX28AC's datasheet tells me that it doesn't have an ADC. You need one if you want to study analog data with a digital device.

So I suggest you pick a different microcontroller. In my projects I've mostly used stuff from Atmel's AVR family. For a simple project like this I'd probably choose the atmega48. If you want to use that particular µC, pick an accelerometer with a digital output.
