It's magic. They have wizards up at microsoft that build all the robots. The wizards first use metal and transform it it take the shape of a robot. Afterwards they enchant the robot with AI. This is a very difficult process. Only powerful wizards can do this. If you learn wizardry you could build robots too but it will be very hard to give them AI.

yeah this is way to broad there are tons of robots, they're either hand made or build by existing robots. They program then with a computer. There you go, a vague question gets a vague answer

That's because the spells required to build a positronic brain are hell, and you need a half-dozen top-notch wizards working in concert. Of course, we all know that wizards at that level tend to be anti-social bastards.

Pixie dust is expensive. There are other alternatives such as fairy dust which is much cheaper. Fairy dust might not be as good but it gets the job done.

How the hell do you get a supply of Tooth Fairy dust? They only comes when you lose teeth! Even then they are very hard to catch and kill.
