A7V8X-X users read this!

I updated the bios on my system (below) from the 06 version to the 08, and after one succesful boot (which ran 3dmark03 all day, bizarrely) it BSODd within about 10secs of every boot outside of safe mode. I was tearing my hair out trying to work out what it was, even clocking my processor and gfx to half stock speeds!

If you have similar problems, restore the 06 versions of the bios, which made everything fine. If you are considering updating the bios on this mobo then make sure you backup the old bios first (can be done in the flash utility)!!! i assume its just for some of my components or drivers, but I thought id just warn u all...

I had one of those POS mobos, but damn if it would run fer crap. BIOS reported temps almost 25c off. I got a huge scare with the 2 I tried to make work happy for me. I'm sure the 2nd was a BIOS issue, but as far as memory and temps issues...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I won't buy anything Asus until they make something that works with basic generic ram.

Picky mobos aren't worth my effort, but I'm a lazy bastard.

Thumbs down Asus "value" motherboards!

Hi, I work in the disti channel supplying Asus and other boards.
In my experience, there are far too many problems and returns with Asus boards aimed at the value sector.

In short, avoid anything that ends with: -X -MX or -VM !!!
