stripped screw when disassembling ps2

I was trying to disassemble my ps2 becuase it's gay, and I literally got every single screw off but one. And this pos screw is stripped, if anyone has ever done this before, you'll know how small it is, and if I had a prefectly fitting screw driver I might beable to use it, but the screw is in there very tight, which is how it got stripped in the first place. So does anyone have any thoughts of how to remove this damn screw?

i know there are screwdrivers that are designed to dig into the stripped screw and get it out however for 1 screwdriver its like 30 bucks. and even once you get it out somehow you'll need to get a new screw because it would make no sence putting a sripped screw back in.

Nah, I planned once I get it out to just throw it out the window and/or piss on it. There's 9 other screws holding the thing on, it won't miss 1 of em.

One possible solution

If it's a small screw, then take a paper clip or other amll piece of metal and bend it to a right angle. Then, if you're gonna throw the screw away, CAREFULLY superglue or jb weld the metal to the pit in the top of the screw. That might let you put enough force on it to unscrew it. Don't use too much glue or you may end up gluing the case to the rest of the ps2.

I'd just break the case apart. Only 1 screw shouldn't matter unless its dead center.

But, on the other hand, I also try to make sure all my tools fit correctly. And since I work for Sears, I have an extensive collection of tools.

Kinda sucks, but I didn't use my ps2 much anyways. Thanks for the help tho guys.

You might be able to find a replacement dvd drive on Ebay. Also, a lot of stores like gamestop have tech that come by to do DVD laser alignments. normally thats all thats wrong.

If you do throw it out the window, be sure to film yourself and it. I'm an Xbox fanboy so I would absolutely love that! Lol!

fucked up screw

Dog I had the same prblem with my xbox. Just chew the corner of a starbrust and put on the end of the screwdriver or hex key you need and it should work. Best of luck.
