Thumbs up Fix your PS2 for FREE!

Just thought I would post a guide to fixing a PS2 that I found for free. This guide will help you to fix disc read errors and the like. I used it because my PS2 had problems with the NTSC blue/purple bottom discs. Took a lot of toying with it to get it right but it eventually worked for a while. I got to do it again sometime. Anyhow, just check this out if you have problems with your PS2.

Fix PS2

Added 6/4/2005:
If you have disconnected your Ribbon Cable from the PS2, there is also a fix for that at the link above.

Please stop e-mailing me people. Just read the top portion of the PS2 Fix above the horizontal line before clicking the e-mail link. If you need help, please just ask on this forum.

This is not a proven method for any certain type of problem with the Playstation 2 console. This may not work for everyone.

I have had someone receintly asking why it didn't work for them... They explained their problem to me and I was able to determine that it was most likley the laser eye in their case. I told them they could buy a new laser eye setup on eBay.

I'm no expert on the workings of the Playstation 2, so please if you have any questions; keep that in mind. Thanks.

Fix PS2
Many thanks! Bit fiddly but worked after a couple of hours messing around - MUCH cheaper than buying a new PS2! Cheers!

May be a gear or motor problem azim-yousoof. If you give more detail about your problem maybe with as much attention as this thread gets, someone will know how to help you.
