Sidekick 3 glitches

Yeah, my best bud bought a new Sidekick. There's a couple of things I was wondering if anyone else has experienced.

1. After dl'ing a new tone, sometimes when the phone rings, it makes this really wierd, high-pitched noise. It's comparable to the way a fax/modem would sound, but it's extremely loud. It doesn't do it all the time. And, sometimes the ring comes in all choppy.

2. The other thing is that when he's sending a text and someone calls, it completely jacks up his phone. I mean, he can't get any more texts until he turns the power off and back on. It even messes up the voicemail, sometimes for hours.

His sister has the same phone. However, she hasn't used the internet browser on it and hasn't had any problems. Could it be possible that he picked up a virus? I really don't know alot about these new "smart phones", but I do know that something you pay $300+ for should at least function correctly.

Update: He finally took the phone to T-Mobile and had it checked out. I guess the guy said something was wrong with the phones software and fixed it in like, three seconds...his only other comment was something about the factory. I can't, in good judgement, repeat what it was he said on this section of the forums though. lol
