Unfortunately I've never owned or even played with an ipod. I knew how damn pricey they were and just didn't look, so I didn't feel bad, hehe. I've owned the zen xtra and still own the rio karma if you're checkin' out hd based mp3 players tho.

It's nice because the developers constantly post on a forum and the firmware updates always include our ideas and suggestions. It's very not nice because it came with a bogus "pouch" to protect the easily scratched surface. I've been everywhere looking for something that would let me "play-through" but the only cases are ipod, ipod this, ipod that...damn. I guess I'll have to wait a year or two, hehe.

Well, the rioaudio site actually seems to be showing a 40gb version of the original karma, so if you've got mad cds, you may hold out. Check riovolution too. I would also recommend an extended warranty from bb, if it breaks in year 3, go in, pick up karma v 3. Doesn't get much better imo.

yeah that link doesn't work. iPods are amazing and iPod Minis are just as great, there are some downsides like software bugs and how much the unlocked buttons kill the batteries. The games are great and since everything is in .AAC it can hold so much more. Anyone who doesn't like an iPod is crazy

What link are you all talking about?
By the way, other than accessories the Karma kicks the iPod's ass. iTunes is the biggest piece of spyware shit I've seen. The Karma also has twice the battery life.
AAC is better than WMA but not better than a properly ripped mp3 and definately not as good as ogg or flac.
