ilo disc

I have the ilo installation disc. I can mail it to you since neither of our ilos work anymore. Somehow if you can send me the shipping fees and your address, or I can list it on ebay so it would be a secure transaction.....

With an appropriate level of soldering skill, it's almost always possible to put in a different switch, but considering most who have that level of skill wouldn't ask the question in the first place... I think it's time to buy a new player.

hook up the mp3 up to the computer and go into my computer. It should be listed in there and then all you have to do is just select the music you want and move it from the mp3 onto your desktop or better yet a new folder.

To create a new folder right click on the desktop and got to new and then it will come up with another category and the click folder.

ilo won't work!

i got a 1 GB ilo from my mum for Christmas and today i was downloading more music (i have already put some songs on it) and when i unplugged the USB cord the ilo came on and said "Error, Reformat internal media as FAT16." i unplugged the USB cord and replugged it in, and opened Window's Media. It said "No device has been detected, please Press F5 to refresh the player". then i put in the disk that came with it and went through the thing, and then unplugged and replugged the USB cord and "No device has been detected, please Press F5 to refresh the player" came on again.

i have NO CLUE on what to do. I'm so pissed. I've had it for 2 days and it's already not working. HELP?!?

When you are removing the device you are using the device manager in the lower left, right, not just pulling it out as this will mess up some devices.

To translate Cy's slightly cryptic response--

In your system tray at the lower right of your display (assuming WinXP with the toolbar in default position), there should be a little icon that has a little green arrow hovering over a rectangular object (it may be hidden... if so, then click the arrow on the left of the tray). If you left-click on that icon it will give you a choice to "safely remove USB" device. Your player will likely show as a mass storage device. You must use this feature before disconnecting any device which interfaces with your computer via USB (exception-- USB keyboards/mice). This will include, USB storage devices ("thumbdrives" and external hard drives), media players, cameras, and memory card adapters.

Failure to do so can and does cause damage to some devices.

What you can try to do is plug the device back in and then click the safely remove icon and see if it will recover. There is a chance, however, that you caused damage to the player's internal memory.

Good luck and do tell us how it turns out.

Ilo MP3 problem

Okay here is a little run down of my situation. Hopefully I can get some help here because my correspondance with the company via email got me no where...as it seems like other peoples correspondance here has done the same. Anyway, I am a college student and I use my MP3 player on my walk from my apartment to my class and back or when I'm riding the bus etc... The MP3 player spends most of the time in my pocket unless I'm changing songs but yet somehow I have still run into a problem even with this light use. I was walking to class one day listening to the device and didn't have any problem. I shut it off when I got to the class room and put it in my pocket as I had a thousand times before.

When class was over and I was still in the classroom I took it out of my pocket, hit the power button and got the normal start up screen and then all of a sudden a message that says: Incorrect format! Reformat the Player! I am not computer, nor hardly electronic savvy and the emails that Ilo sent me back on how to do this were way over my head. I just need some basic instructions on how to reformat the player, or whether or not that's something I am even capable of doing. Thanks in advance I hope for the help!

Help

I bought a ilo player at Christmas, and it did not work. So my mom went and bought another one. This one has worked till now. It wont sync with my media player, and the music wont show up when i try to put music onto in manually. Is it the player, or my computer. When i hooked it up to the PC thorugh the USB, it says "do you want to sync the device to Media player?"
I, of course, say yes, and the damn thing says "sorry we are not able to sink your device to microsoft at this time.
(or something similar)
HELP ME SYNC!
