It looks like a nano but no logo has 1.5 screen and 2GBspace. Myfriend gave it to me it worked fine for him we are both running XP. Problem is it is not being detected at all! No pop ups on PC however the player lights up and shows me it's charging. I've tried to search for it and nothing~On CD the only drivers are for win 98. There is some MP3 Player utilities on the CD too but that won't seem to install either. The CD whizzes round lots tho and I had something saying "I/O error" The instructions are in some funny translation of English with an apple sign in the corner lol... Needless to say this was bought on EBay a couple of months ago.
On the MP3 player the menu shows these options. Music, record, voice, FM radio, text, picture, phone book, games, movie, sys setup. I'd really appreciate it if someone could help me getting this thing connected to my PC... Many thanks Chrissy ![]() |

sadly enough thats a scam. 2GB is meaning 2 gigabits meaning I think 256megs. Also the software that is packaged with them is garbage. wikipedia has a great article about MP4 players http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_MP4/MTV_Player Warning: If you do get it working do not flash it because the firmware cannot be recovered and this makes the player useless.

Shouldn't this thing be plug and play with XP? My friend had it working fine on his PC. I still have his tunes on it, shame I'm not into Christian Rap! I so want to put my own tunes on it.. Surely there must be a way?

I don't even know why that data CD came with drivers for Windows 98, as in my experience I have never got an iPod to work with Windows 98 - only to charge it but nothing other than that!
As for XP - indeed it should be Plug & Play, but due to the nature of the iPod device and the secuirity protection on it, Windows will attempt to find drivers for it but will then ask you for the iPod driver CD, which you do not have. I would try hunting on Google to see if you can download a copy of the iPod driver CD or try to borrow one from a friend who has a Nano too. Other than that, iTunes needs the drivers to be installed before you can use it to transfer music, so without it, I'm afraid you can't do anything. ![]() Good luck! |

Hi just to let you know that I am fully aware that this thing of mine is not a IPOD. It just looks a bit like one  My problem is windows does not detect it! Would really appreciate if someone has some kind of solution or something I could try to get it detected! Many thanks!

Heh - I know that! :P @chrixxy: My solution would be to attempt to use the iPod drivers with it and see what happens. ![]() |

hook it up and see if it detects it. then drop and drag the files into the mp4 folder that should be located in my computer. |
