Camcorder
I got a question. I recently won a sony camcorder that uses the mini dv tapes. Anyways Im wonder is there any difference in quality of the mini dv tapes and the dvd-r's that some of the newer camcorders use?

Way to be useful, dude.
DV tapes are not going to be quite as sturdy as a burned DVD, and the chance of noise getting introduced into the data is slightly better, but the digital playback should be the same between the two formats, all other things equal.

Only the method is different in using the camcorder. others features are almost same.

I avoid DVD camcorders like the plague. DV is a great standard, if you had to move beyond that, I would do with a camera that saves to a memory card. DVD's are quickly becoming as useless as CDs

dvds is always better than tapes, tapes do have a limited resolution structure
