I heard the g10 is nice but it falls apart in low light. Keep it on iso 80 and you have a really nice file that some pros are comparing to medium format. Check Luminous Landscape because I can't post links yet.

Ya, I do completely agree with the MP idea.
It's a large reason why I recently went with a Nikon D40 rather than shelling over the extra cash for a D40x or a D60. It's just not worth the extra money and higher MP does not mean better shots.
