Well, I don't know about the other people here (although I'm sure most of them feel the same way), but I have honestly never used Sony stuff, so I don't hate it by any means. I expected them to make sub-par computer parts (like those in a PS2) because they are an OEM computer manufacturer, like Dell or HP - meaning it doesn't exactly stand for high quality, if you get my drift. Seriously, I cracked up when I read that you wanted to watercool (and maybe even overclock) your PS2. Sure, it would be really different and unique, and your friends would be all "What the heck?!?" when they saw it, but its really not that useful, in my opinion. I'm not sure about what a mod chip does, exactly - maybe someone else here knows. The point is, though, PS2 games are optimized for the PS2 - if you overclock it, the games won't run much better, if at all, because they were written to take advantage of the PS2 hardware - nothing more. Hopefully this clears things up. If you want to do it just to be different, though, and have a totally weirded-out PS2, and you aren't bothered by voiding the warranty and possibly destroying the thing, by all means go for it. ![]() |

what the hell is the point in water cooling ps2's
they should already run fine.... ...unless you've locked it up in a compact space andno fresh air is coming in in this case place it somewhere were it can get lots of air eg. on tv |

why bump a thread over a month old? Even though it is a sticky, sorry, but there isn't really any reason to add to the thread after it is over with.

I acually had a friend who's PS2's little fan on the back stopped working, and he could only play it for about 30 minutes at a time before it locked up and stopped working. After you turned it off and left it for about 5 minutes, it was fine, for another 30 minutes. It wasn't the disk being messed up either, it did it with n-e game. But water cooling for a PS2 is a little outrageous. I mean, it you want it to run cooler, just cut some ventilation holes or slots on it somewhere. While your at it, through a cold cathode kit and some leds in |
