Nice work there Brian.....
What temps were you getting at higher vcore? I need some sort of guideline to see how this pot performs..... Might pick up a thermometer but most likely a Fluke cos theyre alot cheaper used on Ebay..... UEI is good too but not too many used ones online..... The old OCA was the best but its gone now and life goes on..... |

For instance the E6600 w/ 1.9v was around -54 degrees Celsius as compared to the stock-78 that I was getting. This was best results that I could obtain while in Bios.... as for under load I don't have the right equipment to measure with ![]() btw, how exactly did you assemble yours and where did you get the materials and such? |

I dont have a thermometer too
, ........ Im gonna have to rely on Speedfan to monitor my temps, I hope it works at those temps, the lowest ive seen it was -8c on the chiller.....To make my pot, I used an 8' long 2" diameter copper pipe ( type K ), a 2" copper endcap and a piece of copper from Intel HSF...... I placed the piece of copper in the middle of the endcap ( with a lil solder underneath ) then inserted the copper pipe and soldered everything together...... Hardest part was to clean up the pot so it looks presentable lol.... I had to get a beat up pipe cos no one would sell me a new piece shorter than 12 feet long ( $17/ foot )...... Good place to start to find materials are plumbling stores.... For mounting, I just go to a plexi shop and ask them to cut me a 1/2" piece... got 3 yesterday for $5 lol..... Well, todays the day...... everything is all set, just need some dry ice and some luck..... |

Should make good contact
... Ive always said anything over 600 grit blah blah blah.... 1st time I lapped something this fine ( 1500 grit ) in 5 yearsl ol....![]() What Im wishing for ( more like dreaming for lol ) ..... I just want a screenie....... ![]() Last edited by macrohard : April 11th, 2007 at 10:46 AM. |

Well it has been awhile since I killed my DFI board and have recently just got back my P5B from the "shop". I was able to do a quick bench tonight to see how the mods work. They are working great so far. Before the run was over I had the Vcore up to 1.8v
![]() Here is some 1st run results. Not great by any standard. The FSB for now will not go above 480. Gonna have to do some more runs to see if there is anything I can do but I think I will see better results with this chip on the P5K. Gonna rebench my other chips as I feel I will get some better Pi times with the 965 chipset. ![]() ![]() Last edited by Brian y. : July 5th, 2007 at 11:07 PM. |

The last couple of months have been busy for me in terms of overclocking
Ive made 3 more pots since and the last one is for ln2 ... here's luihed rev1.4 My IP35 was giving me alot of trouble past 550fsb so I didnt get a good 1M run, but here's a decent 32M... still on the same E6600 |

That 32M is ridiculous!!!!
Is that the P5K you are using? Was the board modded at all? Again, hats off for that awesome 32M Macro!! Popped in my E6600 in tonight into the P5B. I could not coax the board into running a 1M over 560FSB. Was good though to hit 5GHz with a Core2 for the first time though. Will try to see later this week how it fairs with some 32M runs.( won't be as good as Macro's though )![]() |

Thanks bro... nice clocks there yourself....
Im using IP35 pro now..... For P5K you have to enable static read control or something like that so the chipset doesnt loosen up your timings..... Bro, dont tell me that run you did is with dry ice, ln2 right? I only did 2 days of ln2 but my board gets quirky at high fsb, could be the cpu too im not sure.... The run above was done in the first hr but after that I couldnt finish even 1M at higher or lower mhz I had so much room to tighten up my mem too but the board was too much to handle...Will try again in a couple of days, I really want to do under 10m below 5ghz...... |
