For a good water cooling system you are looking around $250 at about the very minimum for a full system set up. And if you want silence wc really isn't the option since you still need fans on the radiator. You might as well just go with big heat sinks with heat pipes and 120mm fans on low rpms and you will be fine.

bball is right. he is saying to use a good heatpipe heatsink that has a 120mm fan on it. good ones will give you good temps with very low noise as the big 120mm fans dont need to go fast to get good airflow. here's MadHyeNa's list of the best air coolers:
Thermalright Ultra 120 - best active cooler in the link below Scythe KATANA-cu. Artic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro - good cheap heatpipe heatsink with big fan Thermaltake Big Typhoon - another good cheap heatpipe heatsink with big fan Zalman CNPS9500. Scythe Ninja Plus. Thermalright XP90/XP120 heatsinks, and put a 90/120mm AC fan on it. Scythe SY-SCINF-1000 Infinity. Cooler Master Hyper 6+. Sunbeam Tuniq Tower. Noctua NH-U12. Thermaltake Venus 12. ***Note: List is in random order, all of these are excellent and awesome choices. ***Note2: The most important things when choosing an air cooler are the following ones: 1.) cooper; 2.) heatpipes; 3.) bigger the better-- 120mm>90mm; 4.) low rpm, high cfm, low db; 5.) do your homework, research-- read reviews http://www.sweclockers.com/imagebank/30fa2/MsJelD.gif ***Note3: Do not forget the Artic Silver 5 thermal compound. heres's how to use it http://www.arcticsilver.com/arctic_...nstructions.htm and if you wanna overclock read ALL of this carefully http://www.devhardware.com/forums/c...uide-97163.html take at least a couple of hours to read all this |

Ok, i think ive kinda go the idea of heat sinks/pipes.. but just to see how much i would have to get out for a system to be up and running..can i get more suggestions along the line of w/cing?
(not throwing heatsinks/pipes out of the door..just looking at my options) |

if you really wanna wc go for it. i dont know which kits are good or not, just wait for some reccomendations, dont just go and buy whatever you find. you can do some reasearch, do a google for "water cool review" should find heaps of reviews with that, read as many as you can.

thats what im doing, and done that. still not a very good indication in what way to turn, reviews seem fairly limited and uncompairible, unless tested by the same people. Im not TOO woried about heat as of right now..but the sound is a huge problem for me..im just weird like that. also..i just really like the idea of water cooling..no real reason..just is fun to explain..i have the same cooling as a car in my computer..

yeah i know what you mean. hopefully we get some water cooling kit reccomendations soon.
are there any kits you have your eye on? tell us which ones and we'll let you know if there is anything bad about them. one of the main problems with kits i see is the absence of steel hose clamps. this is a cheap thing to correct tho! adding another radiator to most kits would be nice too, but not neccessary if you arent too fussed about temps. same with pump size, many kits have weak pumps. |

i havent seen many kits but the thermaltake big water looks ok http://www.overclockercafe.com/Revi...ater/index.html
the crappest thing is the pump - it's only 120l/h but it's quiet and the kit peforms well so it might be just right for ya. avoid restriction on radiator output. cut pc case metal if you have to. make sure all that hot air goes out one end of case and cool air comes in the other end. you can just mount the rad externally, that way wc is externally cooling cpu & psu is venting the rest of the case. would be nice if this kit had a bigger pump, gpu waterblock & maybe a dual 120mm rad.. |

the h20-220 is a nice wc kit http://www.swiftnets.com/ not sure if it comes with steel hose clamps? all you need to add on is the gpu waterblock. if your chipset fan is noisy get the chipset waterblock aswell.
might end up costing double the big water setup but you are wc all 3 main heat sources in the case very quietly, not just the cpu. mount the rad nicely & the only other fan required is the psu fan. hopefully that fan is quiet too. if not there are good psu's with quiet 120mm fans available |

http://www.zalman.co.kr/
check out the fatal1ty fc-zv9, looks nice. dunno if it will fit as it only lists up to 7900gt but the mounting brackets give plenty of options so it most likely would fit. there are other zalman heatpipe vga coolers. if you are gonna wc get a waterblock for the graphics card. that swiftech kit has plenty of radiator for cpu & gpu and the pump is good too. |
