Low FPS with ATI HD 5730
I just got my new laptop,
i7 CPU @ 1.6 Ghtz
6 Gig RAM
1 GIG ATI HD 5730
I just got Left for Dead 2, and installed fraps to check my frames per second. I am very confused because I a only getting 14 fps while playing on high, and if i drop the resolution to 720p, I only go up to 23. Is this correct? Shouldn't I be getting better performance with my cpu and video card?

What resolution do you play at ?
First thing I would check out are the settings for your vidcard in game...turn v-sync off and then lower the AA and AF.

I was first playing on the recommended settings which was, AA at 4X, AF at 8X, resolution at 1920X1280. With these settings i only got around 14 fps. I then lowered my res to 1600X900, set my AA to 2X, disabled v-sync, and set Effect detail to medium. With these settings the max fps that i got was 23. As far as the card's settings, i have it set to optimal performance. I am not impressed at the results that i am getting.
