Vista 64 folding problem (laptop)
As this New one is a Asus model G50Vt SP. Laptop with Vista OS 64,
Intel Centrino 2 Duo Mobile processor p8400 2.26GHz,
Nvidia’s GeForce 9800M GT Graphics Card ,
RAM 4G 800 Mhz RAM and 2 HDDs 320G 7200RPM
It has the power to spare (lol) but the only one I can get to work is in the tray the others will not load and work.
What am I doing wrong?
I can now get 2 CPU clients to work in the tray, is the best?
The graphic will not run???

Cy,
I think you should be able to load the GPU client with that controller (console version) and you should be able to load the SMP client to utilise that CPU.
Not sure if the problem might be a lack of Vista 64 versions. I'll check tomorrow and let you know.

There is a SMP Windows/Vista 64 bit console client, no SMP tray client for 32 or 64.
Here is the link to the advanced and beta clients most of us are using. http://folding.stanford.edu/English/DownloadWinOther
I cannot tell from the info there if the GPU client runs on 64 bit or not, hopefully someone that does run it or klnow will chip in.
I run the OS/X client, the Vista 32 bit beta 2 console v6.22 deino SMP, GPU2 v6.23 tray client (on Vista 32) and the standard tray client on windows XP across my various machines.
According to what I can see you should be able to run the GPU2 client on your lappy and even an SMP client for some great ppd, just be careful you don't force it into a meltdown.

I am running the 6.23 CPU client and the 6.23 Vista/2008 SMP client console version beta2 for MPICH (32-bit or 64-bit) GPU.
In order to do this
I had to up date my driver and add the Cuda tools so the driver is Cuda capable (for NVIDIA cards) and that makes the added card not the GPU on the board the primary display board. The CUDA capable driver is 177.35 and above, my card supports NVIDA/ASUS (only) driver 180.3 you have to look these up and make sure it is correct for card installed
If the DLL error pops up, go to the installed location, C:\Program Files\Folding@home\Folding@home-gpu by default, and make sure the cudart.dll ended up there with the FahCore_11.exe file. If not, do a file search (including hidden and system files/folders) and copy the file to the needed location.
