You are right; you are in the dev hardware forum, I just posted in a thread most of the folding guys tend to frequent to try and maximise chances of getting assistance for your problem.

I recently joined here as well... finally got an SMP client up and running under linux since the Windows SMP is crap and stanford refuses to help (keeps blaming me or my systems)

Most of us have seen some pretty weird shit regarding folding clients and can always offer meaningful advice without putting you down or publicly making you look a dumb noob, like the stanford forum mods do at any given chance!!

OK, there has to be some graphical display utilities that can show cool folding progress. Years ago SETI had some screensavers that showed the FFT output.
I can't figure out what the eqivalent thing is for F@H.
Where should I look?
Ubuntu/debian hosts, usually, altho I may fire up a Windoze box or two that are laying arround unused.

There are some graphical displays for the older clients, and the newer beta ones are not sorted out yet.
If you are trying to fold in earnest then do not run any graphical client, they just take up resources that slow your folding down. If you want to track progress on your folding run something like fahmon that gives you progress stats on your client(s).
