GPU vs. CPU folding-- AMD 3000+ with 8400GS
The title pretty much says it all. I have put my Dngrlab computer back on XP Pro and it is currently an Athlon 3000+ (Winchester) with 1GB RAM and an 8400GS 512MB graphics card on PCIe (x16).
The question is, am I better off folding the cpu as a service or killing that and downloading the GPU2 beta client for nvidia (I thank that's right ) and running it in the tray?

Personally I would go for the GPU folding...your 8400GS will net you about 600 PPD (give or take)
If you OC the shadder you might get a little more out of it. I find with my 88's OC'ing the shadder from 1500Mhz to 1750Mhz gets me better times per frame, than when I OC the Core itself,it doesn't make too much of a diff ...so I leave the core at 650 MHZ in stead of 700Mhz. Back when I folded with my AMD 3200 I was lucky to break a little over 100 PPD ![]() Madhyena posted a chart on pg 68 HERE

Cool. I downloaded the systray client for my Dngrlab machine (since I'm the only on on it) and the console version for the main machine. We'll see if these suckers improve my stats any over the next few weeks.
