Folding performance - Members PC details

OK, I thinks it's time for an update - what is everyone folding on.

(I think) I am on:
1 x P4 no OC XP, 6.2 std tray client 24x7
1 x Q6600 no OC Vista 32, 2 x SMP 5.91 console extended deadline 24x7
3 x Q6600 no OC, 9800GTX 177.35 drivers no OC Vista 32, 2x SMP 5.91 console extended deadline, 1xGPU 6.20 tray 24x7
1 x Q9450 no OC, 9800GTX 177.35 drivers no OC Vista 32, 2x SMP 5.91 console extended deadline, 1xGPU 6.20 tray 24x7
1 x Mac Pro 8 core, 4 x SMP console clients whenever not being used with edit suite jobs.

Also here are the current WU & ppd for each client on each machine.

Have not changed my setup since the last betas expired, but I know many of you guys have so lets have some details.

Well;

1x Q6600 @ 2.92Ghz, 1x SMP, 1x Std console, 1x GPU on EN8800GT @ 763Ghz and 177.85 CUDA
1 E6600 @2.8Ghz 1x SMP, 1x GPU on 8800GT @ 700Mhz and 177.85 CUDA.

That may all change by the end of the day though (snikker)!

Edit: Like I said earlier, things change!

1x Q9450 @ 3Ghz, 1x SMP, 1x Std, 1x GPU on EN8800GT and still @763Mhz.

Will probably replace the E6600 with the Q6600 tomorrow some time.

I'm still on the same setup:

Q6600 (stock), 64-bit Linux (Slackware 12, 2.6.22.8 kernel) and FAH6.02 Unified Linux client.

The p2668 and p2669 work units drive my ppd up a lot, but the p2605 and its relatives bring it back down.

2/AMD 4400+@2.6GHz= 1 5.04 Client /1 GPU Systray

Both GPU's are using 174.55 Drivers and are OC'ed 680/1780/1880

My 8800gt 256mb @ 700/1725

I may get my 8400gs folding.. although its less points then running the gromacs on a single core...

Or I may get a 9600gs...

Anyone here having luck with running 2 gpu clients on the same rig?

@bball - there's no limit of GPU's for folding per machine
I know of several quad GPU folders at HardOCP. I also know of 1 custom box someone at a College Tech department built that has 8 GPU's in it turning 40,000ppd alone.

I run the dual 8800GT's on an XFX 780i board with SLI bridge removed, as a dedicated folder. I could add another card in the future as it ability to run 3 cards.

I have created this thread and moved some posts from General folding chat, to make it easier to see how other members are Folding.


Please add to the list with your own setup, adding driver version would be helpful.

(currently not running smp clients but will set them up tonight and update this post)

FahMon is saying I get about 10,500 PPD

After I went to the 4xSMP on the Mac I stopped all other machines that were folding, it just wasn't worth it since I was pulling such crappy numbers.

The mac is running an NVIDIA Quadro FX 5600, it's a video editing machine similar to what John is running.

My setup atm:

E2140 with 8800gt 512 mb - Vista home prem (174.55)
1x GPU2 6.20 systray @ 1min 26 per %
Going to change driver on vista, when overclocked video driver keeps crashing and reverting back to stock settings.

E6600 OC 3.15 2@ 8800gts 320mb - XP home (177.35)
1x GPU2 620 systray @ 2min per %
1 smp 5.91 extended @15min 30 per %

Sempron 3100+ 8800gtx OC 512mb XP home (177.35)
1x GPU2 620 systray @ 1min 24 #per %

The others to little to post, only on on the weekends.

All on crappy dial up connection, with bad connection nice to run SMP, longer between downloads and uploads.

Since Python and Ice have increased PPD, may look into running 2 GPU2 on my SLI board..

For starters, SMP refuses to run on either of my dual core machines in XP but linux SMP client works fine.

E2140 with 2 single core clients running, XP Home

E6600 with a GPU on the 8800GTS 320MB and a single core client on core #2. XP Pro and occasionally SMP linux. I chose the higher ppd with the GPU client for now

AthlonXP 3000+ XP Pro

AthlonXP-M 2600+ Ubuntu 8.04 (having issues, keeps overheating even with proper ventilation.)

It has been a year since the last update, things have changed - hardware, folding clients, members' jobs and capabilities, so where is everyone now??

Currently running:

3x Q6600 + 9800GT - Linux 2.6.30.4 + 180.60 Nvidia driver
1x Pentium D + 9800GT - WinXP + 181.22 Nvidia driver

(one Q6600 + 9800GT machine down last two weeks due to hard disk failure)

I'm still running 2 SLI rigs

1 - Q9300 quad with 3-8800GT's - WinXP SP3
1x - SMP 6.23
3x - GPU2
PPD averages 16k

1 - Q9450 quad with dual 260GTX Core 216's - WinXP SP3
1x - SMP 6.23
2x - GPU2
PPD averages 17k

When the ambient temps are cool like its been the last week, all 5 video cards have the shaders OC'ed.
The 8800GT's shaders go from 1512 stock to 1780 OC
The 260GTX's shaders go from 1242 stock to 1512 OC

I'm running:

Penelope: SMP client on an Opty 165 and the GPU client on a Radeon 5850
Laptop: normal console client
Workstation: 4x normal console client on a Xeon E5320 (would go SMP if it ran reliably as a service).

Don't know the averages, don't really monitor any of them...

I've cut out the SMP (for login reasons)
Just running
EVGA 8800GT @ 600/1750/1800
Palit GTX260 @ 625/1490/2200

Everytime I go to 1500 on the shaders of the 260 I only complete approx 60% of WU's...they'ra always crashing randomly...10%/53%/86%
