Did you get to see 'Caesar Must Die'? Looks pretty interesting.
Mind if I ask what 'units' you have?

Unfortunately no, we only got to see a few films outside of the Generations Shorts.
For my equipment it is still the same old gear I had before.
some Q6600 PC's on Vista with 9800GTX,
1 x Q9450 PC with 9800GTX,
1 x Mac Pro 8 core.
As soon as it starts getting colder I will take a look at what the current hardware is and may get some newer video cards.

I'm guessing you used to run with the -bigadv flag? Unfortunately those systems are limited to 16+ cores now, but you would still get some good points just running the v7 client on your three boxes.
If heat is a problem, perhaps look into cutting the voltage just a bit on the CPUs? I have been able to do that with my x2 (from 1.35 to 1.3 v), and that's even after overclocking it. Plus, cutting voltage helps with cutting the power draw as well....

Hmm... I need to sneak F@H on my machine at work for a couple of days and see what kind of numbers it puts up.
It's a dual X5660 / GTX 480 rig.

Good idea! I have done that with my box at work, but it's not quite as powerful as yours haha.
I have also been looking into getting a server setup to run -bigadv with, but they are quite expensive! Still, posting 200K/day might be worth it. Then I could shut you down once and for all. :P

You first! It's mostly the mobo price that gets me, sigh.
Asus Dual-G34 Mobo: $450
Opteron 61xx 12-core: $400-$450 each
Reuse old RAM, PSU, HDD, case, etc.
Total: STILL $1300

The dual X5660 rig at work should put up some big numbers then.

Tragically, no. Only because the dual X5560 setup is 8 cores and 16 threads, while the -bigadv flag now requires 16+ cores. And the -bigadv flag adds 80% to your base points, so it's a big hit if you can't run with it. You MIGHT be able to hit -bigadv deadlines, but if you can't hit the deadline, you are looking at a much lower PPD.... :/
Of course, you won't know until you try! Get to it! :P

Oh my GPU folding got all locked up somehow... so now I'm just down to my CPU... I can't get it to restart...

If you can get -bigadv running then it might saving DevFolding from oblivion! Haha
Did you try right clicking on the GPU slot and clicking finish? You can also find the cache that stores the current work on your PC and delete those files, but I don't remember where they are located....

I did, it just hung there. I ended up deleting that GPU slot, and it started folding again but something is still off. I'll probably just delete the client and reinstall.

This guide will show you how to run -bigadv, but basically you just modify the SMP slot to run 'client-type' as -'bigadv' and see if it meets the deadlines. You will be able to tell because your points will shoot WAY up.

When you do a reinstall, make sure you delete cache and preferences, since the cache could cause a problem. Also, make sure you install the newest Nvidia drivers first, since F@H can be rather picky about driver versions :S

Hola Nilpo! It has been awhile | Ah Thanks.
I did an uninstall and it seemed to have cleared out just about everything. I had already updated the drivers after it froze up, and it didn't change anything, but it all seems to be working again, at least in the client. My points don't seem to be correct though... Oy Vey.
Edit... so the client at work is up and running... I have no idea where to end the -bigadv tag, I added it to the Extra core options... but not sure if thats right.
