AMD Dual Core Folding Question
OK so I set up a 5.04 Client on my Daughter's Comp (SMP's Suck on a AMD 64 X2 4400+...28 mins a frame)
Anyways I got the client running but it's only showing that it's running on 1 core.
I have set anffinity to run on Core 0 and Core one1.
But it still wants to run on just the one core.

I doubt it.
5.04 consoles are single core only
You can run 2 of them on a dual core though
Just put the 2nd client in a different directory and set it as machine ID 2 during setup.

Any work arounds to get it to run on both cores.
Thanks
28 mins a frame< what was the project? I will look it up against my E6600 results as a guide.
It sounds like it could complete a WU in time (if it is going to run 24x7) and it is probably worth a LOT more than 1 or 2 normal clients.

I forget the name (maybe 2665) but I know it was worth 1760 points
At 28 mins per frame...........that equills about 46.6 hours and yes it will be on 24/7
Do you think it's Worth it ????......Being that with a 5.04 I would only pushout 300 - 400 PPD
I guess if a lappy takes 2 days then maybe it is worth it

IT might have been a 2653 they are 1760 pts, 2665 is 1920 pts.
My E6600 does those in about 17minutes per frame. My Q6600 in about 12 mins or 17mins with 2x SMP running.
Your orginal thought seems correct they may be close to missing the deadlines. I think Python or someone runs some SMPs closer to those timeframes, maybe they can add some comment.

I gotta change out my ram ...2 sticks will only do 225Mhz Stable where as the other 2 sticks of OCZ will do 243Mhz stable.
Maybe the 400Mhz=20% boost will help bring it down some.
Theorectically a 20% reduction in time would =22.4 mins per frame........worth a try.......let you know tommorrow

So I changed out my OCZ to the better sticks.
Overclocked to 2.53Ghz...I know these sticks will do 2.64Ghz,but just wanna make sure it's extra stable.
Well at 2.5Ghz from 2.2Ghz I can do an SMP frame at 20.2mins a frame.
Which works out to approx 33.8 Hour to complete a 2653 WU.
Wonder if a fresh install of XP would help...I've had this HHD sitting around in my closet for 8 months since I got my Raptor.
Being it was used on the same board I didn't reformat.
Might OC a little more once it's been running for a few days
So with both comps running an SMP with 1 running a GPU client
I should pull approx 30,800+ per week or 4406 PPD (Theorectically)

Just a little thing, I remember when I started (just at the beginning of the year) I needed to upgrade our machines from XP to Vista and the ppd went up just from the different OS.
If you get that OC a little higher that machine will be pulling great ppd
