try to reboot and set all settings to default in bios .....

then change fsb +5 each time until crash , then back down 5, change meory timings , test.... increase vcore by 1 value, test, up the fsb again, test... increase vcore, test, up the fsb, test.... u get the idea... with p4p I had a weird problem that after mine would come up crashed if you don't select "default settings" and just try to fix the last known tweak - it would not work right... and from the get-go u can up te voltage on ram to like 2.75 and keep it there....

gotta remember too the 3.0 won't go that far

oh btw what is at 50 mobo or cpu? 50 isn't a great temp you know - look into some cooling

Cool

like they said keep testing my 3.2 is at 3.91 now on air im trying for more but not sure if itll do any more this took me a few days of trial and error. with a 3.0 dont buy the fastest memory its a waste of time. get 3700 at the most you wolnt get over the 250-255 fsb on that processor. im shooting for over 4.0 but not sure if itll do it and be stable well see. to the first guy get some of the ocz gold 3700 rev 2 that stuff rocks for the higher ghz proccesors!!! on the asus board you should have no problem getting 240fsb with 3.0 or 3.2, my 2.4 does 315 but the 3's will never do that.

hi there,
i've been tinkering around with my system in the last few days and come to the conclusion that i could do with some advice about what to expect. i've read up on the basics etc. i'd just like some opinions on what the best way to get started (i really don't get the 5:4 / 1:1 tradeoff) and more importantly at what point i should stop.

system:
p4p800 deluxe
p4 2.8
2*512 ocz pc3500 EL DDR dual channel
asus v9560 (got it free, will upgrade when i can!)
diamondmax plus 9 120G SATA
m-audio delta 44

just the bog standard intel heatsink & cooler atm, would appreciate some advice on that too if poss, around £30 / $50.

thanks in advance,
colm.

Regarding cooling: SL-94 by Thermalright, (heck any of their stuff is great), ummm... Swiftech makes some good coolers, and Aerocool. I think these 3 have top honors. Most folks have the most luck w/ Thermalright, but for me it was Aerocool (who knows why?). You should be able to pick some of these up for under $50.

My p4 still sits at stock everything. I OC my p3, though.

Exclamation Newb OCing 3200+

I need some help OCing my new AMD 3200+ Barton processor. However, the multiplier is locked at 13 and I want to run this thing to a near 3.0ghz. Can someone tell me what I should set the multiplier, FSB, and voltages at so it will be stable? Any help would be much appreciated.

you wolnt hit 3.9 with air usually. unless you have REALLY GOOD COOLING... like the sp-94 with a tornado fan on it.. as far as 3.9 im at 4ghz now on a 3.2 so yes it is possible but im running a custom water setup with all danger den blocks. if you run water youll squeeze a little more but rmember you are pretty much topped out for your chip these were meant to max out at 3.6ghz. also what are you running for mobo and ram etc.... and what are the settings your using??? i might be able to help squeeze a little more but definately not with stock cooling.on air without the sp-94 i could only do just over 3.6 also. tried zalmans and swiftechs and aerocools, etc tried em all the went to water. im going to do vapochill next if i can run 4 on water i should squeeze almost 4.5 on vapochill. my 3.2 should love the -2 degrees or so hehe
