Overclock with PAT enabled?
Hi, all
I have
Asus P4P800 Delux
P4 2.4C -> 3.1
2* 512MB DDR400 PC3200 by Kingston
PixelView FX5600 256MB
My question is I oc'd without Memroy Accelaration Mode (so-called PAT) enabled. When I try to enabled, my system won't boot up. Does anyone had a success oc with MAM enabled? I thinks I saw an article saying PAT makes it slower.
Thanks for your help.

pat speeds things up with ur ram but it stresses ur ram. If u got ram overclocked or just plain not good overclocking ram pat generally wont work. It does improve performance by the way not slowing it down otherwise it wouldnt be there.

No they aren't -
"ASUS found a way to enable PAT technology on an i865PE based mainboard and to make it run as fast as an i875P based mainboard does."

ASUS P4P800 w/PAT Revealed!
Since the news a few days ago about the ASUS claim to have enabled Perfomance Acceleration Technology on the ASUS i865PE P4P800 motherboard, a lot of specualation about whether it is real or a memory tweak to mimic PAT has been passed around. Tom's Hardware decided to look into the matter in detail and has tried to answer the question "Did ASUS really enable PAT on an i865PE board?" |

it doesnt work well with memory dividers beides 1/1. Youve got a 800mhz P4 and only DDR400 ram so im assuming you are using a divider.

Yep, I am using mem divider5:4. Is it better to leave 2.4 at memory acceration enabled and run 1:1 or 3.1 w/ MAM disabled and run mem at 5:4? Would I feel much difference? Thanks for the info.
