Need OCing Advice For Q6600

Im not that bad at OCing my CPU back in the old P4 days but now that i have a new CPU and come to think of it new everything ive basically gone back to step 1, which is that i need help to OC.

I have

GA-N680SLI-DQ6 Rev 2
Q6600 + Big Typhonn VX CPU cooler
Gigabyte 8800GTX 768mb
2GB DDR2 800 5-5-5-18
850W PSU

The thing i cant do is get over 2.8GHZ, all i can manage in the bio is to change the FSB and leave everything stock and have the voltages on auto now when i go over 2.8GHZ the PC crashes or wont boot.

I think that my memory is holding me back but what do i need to do in order to atleast get to 3.2ghz.

I found the gigabyte MOBO isnt very helpful to a person like me tring to OC their PC.

thanks guys.

find the memory dividier and drop that down, next if that doesn't work, jack up the volts up some.

Gday guys, ive upgraded my memory to the geil esoteria series its 2x1GB DDR2 800 OCed to 3-4-4-10 @2.2v

Now do you think the memory will hold up the CPU OCed to 30ghz?

Im too affraid of playing around in the bios before i ask some questions.

Should i leave the Multiplayer at 9 and unlink the CPU to memory?

With the Q6600 what voltage should i put it up to in order to get it to 3GHZ?

Is there anything else that might need to be changed in the bios for the CPU or memory?

NOTE: the Q6600 is the old version not with the new G0
