E6300 Oc?
Hi everyone, Im new to the overclocking area of PC's and was wondering if I am able/how to overclock my cpu just a tad. Here is my current system specs:
-Asus p5n73-am mobo (1333 fsb)
-e6300 2.8ghz Dual Core CPU (1066 fsb)
-4gb Corsair XMS2 Ram
-500w Thermaltake purepower PSU
-XFX 4770 Radeon Card
-Thermaltake v1 CPU cooler
-Thermaltake v9 Black Edition Case w/140mm front fan replacement
-22X LG DVD/RW
-WD (2) 320gb HDD's
-Sony 16X DVD-ROM
My cpu temps right now from BIOS read 29C for CPU, 31C for Motherboard, and fan speed 1600rpm. How would I go about Overclocking this to a 3.0ghz? On BIOS, i OC'd the ram since its feature on the motherboard says 800 (OC) by Unlinking it and setting the mhz from 666.7 to 800. I noticed in BIOS that the CPU can be changed by entering a number. It shows 2886Mhz and if I change that setting to 3000mhz will that enable it to 3.0Ghz?
Thanks to all in advance.
