10 is the highest you can go because that is the default multiplier of a 3800+. If you want a higher multiplier, you have to shell out some more cash and get a higher rated CPU.

The only way to overclock further is by raising the HTT speed..

I picked up an Athlon X2 3800+ recently too, not had a chance to properly clock it yet, so I'd be interested to hear how you get on.

The one thing I have noticed with clocking it, is that I have to lower the HT multiplier from 5x to 4x to keep things stable. I think that generally most folk have to do this.

Happy O/Cing!

Yes, through raising the HTT link speed (analogous to the FSB on Intel systems).

Knock the HTT multiplier down to 4x or 3x (there isn't a big performance loss) to keep the HTT bus under 1000MHz (default is 5x200) to keep stability, and the rest should be pretty easy

I had a 3800x2 got it to 2.8GHzm but heat was to much due to bad Cpu cooler so kept it at 2.7GHz

Multiplier@10
CPU Frequency@ 270mhz (Basically FSB)
HTT Multiplier@ 3X
VCORE Had to be set at 1.55 i think on my Gigabyte M61P-S3
I was using DDR2 800Mhz memory and i lowered the ratio down so the memory was set at 667MHz so overclocked it didnt go over stock speeds.
