Xerox monitor XG-91D
I have a Xerox XG-91D, I believe is made by Proview. When I turn the monitor on cold it will stay on for 12-15 minutes, then go black. The led will stay on but no screen, pushing the button doesn't do anything but if I unplug it and plug it back in it will stay on for 2-3 minutes. I suspect power supply, I tore the unit apart and found a chip on the power supply board with the markings BD5A28 (near as I can tell) the one leg is burnt and part of the silicone is missing. I think its a rectifier but could be wrong. My local electronics shop doesn't have a listing for this part. I have goggled, yahooed, and dogpiled. Are those words? But could not find anything about it. I have looked at the part number many times and believe that is the correct number.
1 can anyone help me with info on this part and any cross reference on it?
2 When changing this part is there another component that I should look at replacing with it?
3 What would cause this part to fail? Power surge?
Thanks for any help anyone can give me
