TV Out no color
I know this has been brought up many times, but my case is a little different. First, I have had my TV set up to play video from my computer for about a year now, and haven't had any problems. Until I decided to install the newest NVidia display drivers the other day. Then, all of a sudden, no more color being displayed on my TV. I just watched a movie from my computer on my TV last night, and it was fine. Full color, no issues. I haven't touched any cables or messed with any connections since then. I tried changing the video output format to each setting several times, and no luck. (Yes, I did have this problem when I first hooked my TV up to my video card, and that fixed the problem-- until now) This leads me to believe there are some issues with the current NVidia drivers. Any suggestions?
I have a NVidia GeForce FX 5200 connected to my TV with a s-video to composite adaptor (cause my TV doesn't have s-video input). My current driver version is 6.14.10.6693

The odd thing is that the b&w problem returned to me immediately after installing the newest drivers. (i wish i made a note of what version i used before that) However, my bios screens, boot up, windows logo, etc., are all in color. Only when it gets into windows does it return back to b&w. That is why I am thinking its a problem with the drivers themselves, or the drivers don't like my card.

If you find a setting that says something about PAL, NTSC or Secam, switch that to NTSC if you are in North America, PAL or Secam in Europe. I am not sure that there is a setting for that, but I do know that playing PAL or NTSC video on an NTSC screen will result in a black in white image... And you could also check color correction settings in the drivers. Who knows, maybe the TV has been set up for monochrome. lol

GeForce FX 5200
I am having a similar problem but my TV screen also scrolls continuously, does anyone have any idea why this happens? I am running Windows XP Media Center 2005. This occurs also when the BIOS and boot up screens are displayed. When I connect my notebook using the S-Video cable it works fine, but this GeForce Video card does not.

That sounds like a problem of having the wrong standard (NTSC/PAL) set. I don't know how you would go about changing the TV standard for a video card outside of Windows, but that appears to be the problem. I know trying to display PAL on an NTSC TV will result in b&w picture and a constantly scrolling image. I'm not sure how NTSC shows up on PAL, since I don't own any PAL TV sets.
As far as my problem is concerned, I know my TV is not set for b&w (e.g. the color setting turned down all the way, or something similar) because I use it to watch normal TV and, like I said, the boot up and everything BUT the Windows GUI is in color, like it should be. But, that doesn't do me any good, cause I could care less if the BIOS startup screens and the windows LOADING screen is in color or not. I want to be able to watch videos and play games from my computer on my TV screen. I can't imagine this being a problem other than the driver being faulty. Does anyone else have any idea what could be the cause of this? Not even necessarily a solution to my problem, but what you might think the cause is? Thanks!

Black and white
try going to adjusting your saturation level in the advanced tab of the device settings. It seen to reset to 0 for some reason with the new drivers. Just worked for me. Hope it helps.

AWESOME!! That was the problem! I can't believe I overlooked that. I must have disregarded that setting for whatever reason, cause i looked through every screen many many times. Why would they default it to something like that? That should definately be a fix for the next version. I can't imagine that they set it that way on purpose. In any case, thank you so much!
