Hi to all!
I am new to the forum, and i want some things to get clearer to me. I have readed the LCD Guide and i learned some new stuff. I want to replace my 17" CRT (Hyundai ImageQuest Q770) with a 22" LCD Samsung 2232BW or 226CW but the problem is i don't know which one should i choose. There's a big difference in price, but i don't see the difference in performance. I will use the monitor for games 80%, movies 8%, windows 10% and other 2%. Please don't comment about the prices, i know that they both are too high, but you don't want to live where i do (macedonia). The 2232BW is 318 Euros and the 226CW is 382 Euros. I saw the full specs on samsung's site, but didn't found any differences (except the viewing angle, wich is not that important to me) so Why is the 226CW 64 Euros expensier? What's the difference? Which one should i buy? I like the 226CW more because of the design, but never mind the design, I want an LCD that will be good. Which one is better? (by the price i guess that the 226CW is..) Can anyone tell me detailed stuff about these monitors? Refresh rates? can i put the on them wall? some stuff like that. I don't know anyone that owns any of these LCDs. Any help would be appriciated. Thanks. Greetings. |

Ne mi se veruva.I jas baram za istoto. Procitav i morav da se ubacam. Slusaj brat, I ja sum vo ista kasha so tebe. Menjam 17ka CRT ali mi se povrakja od katastrofalnive LCD monitori. Ko sto gledam samo Samsung modelite kaj nas se nesto podobri vo performansi (iako nemaat osobeno dobar gammut), da ne zboram za pari. Davam pari so tesko srce. Kaj si go gledal 226CW? A inace postojat li nekoi widescreen CRT "monitori" ?PS: Druze, aj ako znaes kaj mozam da najdam procesor core 2 duo E8400 vo Skopje i Creative X-FI Xtreme Gamer zvucna kartica. Umrev od baranje. Mrtov seriozen sum, daj pomagaj: igorbogojevski@yahoo.com. Procesorot ke go nabavat so tek na vreme, ali zvucnata mi treba pod itno za surround -ot da mi raboti na Vista. in English I'm in the same dillema. After throwing 1000$ on my new PC, I thought about changing my 6-year-old 20$ ProView 17" CRT (which I have to say is still better in terms of picture quality than most 17,19 inch LCD's (even though I've gamed every day for 8 hours straight on it). I'll be gaming 90% on my new monitor purchase-under gaming I mean enjoying visually, not just playing on-line (latency-wise). What I see is very important to me, so discoloured crap, backlight bleeding, ghosting, dead pixels, angle of view really ticks me out. I just hate this LCD shitte They had enough time to evolve but they're still not very good (most models anyway). Don't buy LCD's I say. RATMTo Ilija Samurai: I don't know how knowleadgeable in monitors you are, but there isn't an LCD monitor out there that's perfect in every segment ( r t, colors, contrast etc.), at least not one under 800$- and even those don't give flawless results in every sector. The Sammsungs seem to have a very fast response time(even if it is gray-to-gray). The contrast is dynamic (and measured in certain scenarios, so in reality it should be about 800:1 to 1000:1). However the panels use a TN matrix, which is very bad at displaying colors (and it will be no matter how much they tweak it and fake things lol). What I didn't think would really bother me, is actually a pretty big factor- that is- if it's true what they say about angles. I'm 205cm tall so because of the bad stands of these Samsungs (little options), I'll either have to settle with bad color or disfigure my body Vertical variation is much worse than the horizontal. Now on to the answer: 1)the 226CW according to Samsung is the same as the 226BW but is only produced with their original S- Samsung panel and has less issues with backlight bleed (or more likely it's one built in China or Mexico and pre-calibrated)___search google on more about the lottery panels on the 226BW- I strongly recommend it if you haven't done so already 2)it has a wider gammut- that is, it's still a TN panel(I think), but with better, more accurate coloration (94% if we can believe what Samsung claims) so with the 226CW the (newer model) you get the S- panel (the better one) and better color.... and you pay premium . The only way to tell which one is better and whether it's worth paying is to put them side by side (both with S-panels, both on same contrast, brightness, etc, both with the same picture -most likely you'll have to bother the guys at the hardware store to do this for you)There is also the 2232BW which is 'exactly' the same as 226BW but has a different exterior-choose whichever you like more visually I haven't had the time to search about the 226GW(also new) and I don't know how this one fairs with the 226BW, so google it. p.s. If you decide to buy the 226BW make sure it's an S-panel. However... I would recommend waiting for LCD's to get better (isn't easy yeah I know , I want widesreen too w00t). Somekind of OLED displayes are said to be available- but I don't know of what price, quality, or if they'll ever be available in Macedonia. I truly want a quality 22" CRT, but can't find anyA question to all: have there been any ~22" CRT widescreen monitors ever made or is it just fantasy. I would pay 500 euros for that. Ilija, I don't have internet- typing this from Masinski fakultet so expect slow replies from me. If there is a perfect monitor out there please post it!!! |
