Angry monitor keeps going off

When i switch my computer on my monitor comes on and goes off again,
before it goes off a box comes up saying DPMS going to off mode,
anyone tell me what this could be.

Enable BSOD: Control Panel/Systems, Advanced Tab, hit the Settings button under Startup and Recovery, and under the System Failure area, uncheck the Automatically Restart checkbox.

You'll want to check your cable connections first. If you have an extra monitor handy, try swapping it in and see what happens. I'm thinking you will have to replcae your video card, though.

I say just turn off dpms support in the BIOS and turn off the monitor every time you leave the PC. Otherwise I am with Dngrsone. You may want to check the cable you are using and also see if there is any dust lodged in the pins on the back of the card. Basically, see if there is any reason for the interrupt signal not be be reaching the monitor.
