Help in chosing monitor for poor vision

Having vision problems and changing the dpi on my 17" lcd leaves me short of realestate. I do some photoshop for ebay, but do not need super color accuracy. Do need pivot to view portrait mode. Have been considering Dell 2411 or 2412 as can get them in the mid $200 range, but they have anti-glare coatings. Some say this is not good for text (my main use), but other reviews do not mention this. A) is anti-glare that bad for text and B) should I be considering a cheaper TN model?
