Same with Sims 2 Nightlife
I have the same problem as the person with the Vampire game except it only shows the out of frequency page when I put objects into a lot. It's been driving me crazy for days so I'd like to know where to go to install plug an play drivers. I can figure out where to get the drivers themselves, I just need help installing them.

frequency out of range message RIGHT AFTER pressing the ON button/turning on comp
i had the same problem as
tonche
jambazijangili, and
BOBG
and i sort of solved it...
i had ur problems too... no chances of even trying to press F8 and going to safe mode right?
i'm not gonna go all techy coz i know almost nothing on computers.. but this is what happened...
one day.. after a sunny day.. i tried to turn on the comp.. then the bloody message appeared... "frequency.. yada yada.."
tried to find the fixer for the problem on the net but nobody had the answer... did the same thing normal ppl would do.. plugged in other monitors... both lcd and crt... same problem... "not optimum resolution" or "frequency out of range"
tried the monitors on other CPU's... worked fine...
bought new video card.. couldn't install it because apparently.. i needed to disable the on board vid card first.. which i can't do coz it won't turn on...
i was boiling mad... eh... then my mom came into the room...
like all mothers.. although they don't know nothing.. they try to help the way they can... my mom... "cleaned" the motherboard with cotton and a toothbrush... asked me where the monitor was plugged.. and pulled out dust thicker than mold on bread from the area where the vid card was soldered...
then for some reason... after she cleaned it... i turned the comp on... still got the message.. but this time.. the CPU was beeping thrice...
searched on the net what it means.. apparently, it means there is an error.. physically.. on the RAM... likely not connected properly... so.. although it seemed connected perfectly... i took it out.. and pressed it in real nice and tight.. the properly locked it in place...
in all the blessings... when i plugged the monitor back in the onboard vid card... i heard the sounding glory of that one short beep from the CPU... signalling a success in booting.. and the dreaded "frequency out of range" message was never seen again... so far...
so there... i reckin the problem solver was the fact that the connections and the motherboard was free from the suffocating dust... and/or... the connections that needed be connected properly was properly connected... i hope this very long short story of a day in my life will help you guys and some other people who my have the problem too...
peace.. no flamming.. i really am a noob at these stuffs and thought you guys might want to know how mine worked.. in a very subjective way take care now..

That's a good way to blast your memory with static electricity; don't do that!
