Error Reading-Auto Config Please Wait-Acer AL1914 Monitor
good morning. just joined and am happy to find this forum. there is however a similar thread about my problem, but nobody replied there since 2007, so i wanted to aks here for help.
i have an Acer AL1914 LCD Monitor, about 3 years old, and for the past week i get the following error message: Auto Config - Please Wait. it is a small, grey underlayed window that pops up in intervalls in the middle of my screen, with screen flickering. sometimes every 5 minutes, sometimes, every minute. very annoying.
i have tried several ways to correct this. changed my resolution, normally 1280x1024 pixels. checked all cables. connected monitor to a friends computer. wrote an email to acer u.k. (no help whatsoever, tell me it might be a tower problem). tower all o.k. i am at wits ends. should i throw the monitor in the garbagecan and buy a new one? or is there hope out there from someone who could help me with this? i would greatly appreciate any response. thanks kindly. lilimarlen from france.
