This article is a bit old and incomplete, in my opinion.

Mind you, I'm all in favour of telling people to back up their data, in the words of Dan: `Data you haven't backed up is data you don't want'.

But I think that mentioning ZIP and even floppy drives while ignoring tape drives and external hard-drives is a bit stupid. ZIP and floppy have insanely high costs per megabyte compared to the latter two, and haven't been viable backup-strategies for several years. Especially since neither medium has much longevity.

And then there's the fact that the author completely forgot to mention the concept of `off-site backups', the most important part of any backup strategy.

As said, good initiative, but seems to be written several years ago.

I havent used floppy disks in years and even then they were unreliable and @ 1.44mb far too small for any real use.
