My Antivirus, AVG, picks up GameSpy as a Spyware. Is this true? If I were to remove it, would I still be able to play Halo Online?

i hate gamespy arcade. I never install it, and i play all the games online just fine. I don't even know what it does, just that i don't want it on my computer.
