Far cry sucks

Ya that probably got your attention. I just have to say, after playing it all the way though the Cut scenes and Story line sucks total balls. I could give a rats ass about whats going on when there are badass textures and scenery all over the place. I wish the game had more depth and emotion in the characters. Oh ya and those trigen things are retarded. damn bastards. This game is far from perfect, but a really great concept and a big step in game graphics i think.

Did anyone notice how much the story line sucked and stuff through out the whole game? Frick i saw a trailer from www.gametrailers.com for farcry that was way better than any of the cut scenes from the acutal game.

Well i just had to get to get that off my chest. Far Cry just left me a bit hanging and hoping even more that hl2 will be craziest game i have ever seen.

I'll agree that it's not the greatest storyline, but then again look at Doom3, they're taking the original Doom storyline and putting it into 3d textured environment. The voice acting for the character "Jack" is just plain bad. The thing I do like is when you sneak up on the mercs, and they don't know your there, you can listen in on their converstaions, some of them are pretty funny. It's a original storyline which is nice, followed by a breakthrough in computer video game grahpic technology makes it a hit. I don't know if you've ever played Painkiller, but I have copy of the game and played it for all of 15 minutes before I said I'm never playing this thing again. All they did with Painkiller is take a half decent engine, and some crappy rag doll effects and put it with some crap ass storyline involving dead zombies or something like that. Anyways I heard that the storyline was suppost to be something entirely different the whole time they were making Painkiller, but just before they released they came out with a different plot and set of characters, just goes to show how shitty the game really is.

Yeah, just to add to everybody else's comments, I've just been playing it for a couple of days, but I agree. I'm still trying to figure out what the point is. I mean, I know I'm supposed to go around and kill people, but why? I'm hoping this gets explained more as the game goes on. However, it's sounding like I might be disappointed.

Also, for novice gamers like me, this game gets old quick when you have to redo each section like three times just trying to make it to a save point. Frustrating.

agreed, the game's graphics are awesome, but the story line/plot is lacking. BTW, he is in there killing people to try to get his partner/girlfriend (whatever she is) back. Don't remember why she is held hostage or anything, I just remember that that is why he is there. Oh and the trigen things are retarded, can you say pink demon?

The only thing Farcry offered to me was killer graphics, theres nothing new or intersting in it other then that, and doom3 has better graphics.

Well now I think we are all being a little harsh here. I mean, sure Far Cry didnt have the most creative story (mad scientist creates mutants!) but it is still good. The graphics are obviously fine, the sound is average, and the game is too hard. It is a good shooter, just not a D3 or HL2 quality one...
