So What's the deal with Full Towers? First time builder
I'm a first time builder (new account sooo no hyperlinks) and I'm trying to avoid issues with my "gaming" computer buiild
my build:
Intel i5-750 Lynnfield
GIGABYTE GA-P55A-UD4P
G.SKILL ECO Series 4GB
SAPPHIRE 100282SR Radeon HD 5850
750 watt antec earthwatts
samsung spinpoint 750 GB HD
Should I go Full tower or midtower? I'm planning on eventually adding two more HD's and a Bluray player(and turning it into a HTPC).
I've "helped" friends put together their computers and it seems like a lot of them have problems with either getting everything to fit or ventilation while gaming.
recommend me a computer case
I'm currently looking at
XCLIO Windtunnel and buying an extra fan for the optional port in the back

Full towers are nice, I just always thought they were a little too bulky though, if room is an issue...
The only issue I've had with full tower builds that I can speak of to date would be PSU cable lengths... sometimes they can come up short...
But obsiously, you cannot match the shear room of a full ATX case with anything else. More bays on the front, more breathing room inside, and more slots in the back for add-on cards and space-taking double-din GFX cards (or multiple GFX cards )
I'm just running a mid ATX, and it fits everything I need, with a single opticle drive on the front, 2 hard drives, and on the back a single double-din GFX card, a TV tuner card, and a wireless adaptor. I also have no airflow issues despite it being a little more compact case, but I owe that to the engineers at Antec

I don't purposely buy enormous towers, they're just the ones that are the best looking and provide the best cooling to me. You should be able to fit all your hardware in a midtower no problem. The thing you really need to watch out for with smaller cases are the growing lengths of graphics cards these days. I have a full tower and my card leaves little room for clearance between it and the removable hard drive rack (which I have no drives in, the case has 2 racks)

It seems like on this website the default gaming case is the Antec 900, besides style is there much of a difference between it and the 300? or should i just spring for the 900?

I'd go with a full tower if you want SLI and overclocking. If you plan to cram stuff, a mid-tower is still fine. If you want to cram stuff and overclock, a full tower probably will give you more (literally) breathing room.
