Simple case mod - any tips?
I'm still using my old coolermaster wavemaster and was thinking of upgrading the cooling a little so it can handle my overclock a little better. Currently it has a e7200 running at 3.0ghz+. Can get it higher once the cooling is improved a little.
Was thinking of: - some mesh on the sides - using MeshX / dremmel to cut some holes.
- 2 x 120mm FM121 Silverstone's on the top for exhaust.
- 1 x 120mm FM121 Silverstone on the side panel. Not quite sure where to position it seeing as I'm using a CNPS9500 Zalman.
- Cutting out the back so 2 x 80mm fit instead of just one.
- Cutting out the bottom and covering it with mesh and popping in a 92mm fan. (for intake for the video card)
Was not sure if the air pressure inside would balance out.
Intakes
2 x 80mm at the front (would drill some more holes to allow more airflow - currently pretty bad airflow).
1 x 92mm at bottom
1 x 120mm on side panel
Exhaust
2 x 120mm top
1-2 x 80mm rear
1 x 120mm PSU exhaust fan
Made some simple pics below:
The last one is an old one. Although it shows the Zalman 9500. Was thinking of putting the intake a little more towards the front so that it could blow air in front of the heatsink fan or would it be fine directly above the heatsink?
Also I am not quite sure how to attack the MeshX onto the top / bottom / sides. I was thinking of maybe using some sort of bonding glue, would that work or would I need to bolt/rivet it?
Any tips or advice would be great. Was thinking of buying a new case altogether but decided to try mod this one instead.
