You may have shorted teh motherboard to case in a place where it shouldn't be touching.

A switch is a switch... they usually don't have a polarity.Here's the pdf for your motherboard. The blue header is for your USB, the other handles your power switch. Read page 18-- the two pins in the middle (third from left, viewing from the posted pic). Reset is right next to that-- fourth set from the left. |
