adding case handles
those of you who are always moveing your case (like me) know how annoying it is wen u haven't got anything to hold on to well i this mod where gunna stick some handles on your case
1. the parts D pull handles hacksaw drill washers ![]() 2. take the case apart i had to drill rivets out of mine on a earlyer mod ![]() 3. measure it up i got a bit of card but it in the gap lined the handle up and marked it then i periced it with a screwdriver therefore i had the spaceing perfect ![]() 4. once you have drilled the holes (make sure u drill form the inside out because if u slip no huge scratch) screw them on ![]() 5. make sure there nice and tight ![]() 6. put you case back together sit back and look at your handy work ![]() this mod cost me about 3 pounds and took about 40 mins ![]() Last edited by ohara : December 8th, 2004 at 05:29 PM. |

Is all you want to do is add a case fan in it? If so... 1. use masking tape on both sides of the plexi (stops the plexi from splitting/chipping and protects against the erroneous blade slip up). 2. Draw out the cut location 3. If using a jigsaw, drill a pilot hole first 4. if using a dremel, start by making cuts like slicing a pizza across the cut out. I usually make 4 cuts like that. 5. then slowly make the round cuts, taking out a "slice of the pizza" at a time. 6. sand down all the rough edges 7. line up the fan, and outline the holes for the fan mounting screws. 8. drill out the holes...depending on how thick the plexi is, you might want to start out with a small bit, then work your way up the desired size. 9. remove the tape, and clean up any remaining residue 10. install the fan. peace

I have another, cheaper LCD mod, i found this when searching for a multi LED temperature meter circuit diagram. (reference for electronics coursework (electronics n00b))
http://www.overclockers.com.au/techstuff/a_diy_lcd/ i will probably at some point do this mod, it looks fun and cheap \m/, might cut up one of my plastic drive bays and fit it in there. |
