Building a new pc
I've decided to build a new pc for gaming and i'd like some help choosing the parts.
It's a pc for gaming i want so i was considering whether to get the dual graphics (SLI). But i would like to know if it's more powerfull cost wise than to buy a single, better card. I've got more questions about other parts but this is the main issue im considering at the moment. |

Sorry i posted this in the wrong place. I meant it to be in the PC hardware forum.

what u want is the graphics card section!
from what i know its alot better to get a single powerfull card than to spend the same amount on two weaker cards. either way you will need to make sure your powersupply is good see here http://www.devhardware.com/forums/p...pply-94217.html |

Personally, if i had a PCI-e motherboard with SLi, i would go for two mid-range cards. something like two 7600GT's. those are better on their own than the 6800 Ultra, and they come at under £100 (in the US between $150 and $200 on newegg.com ). two of those in SLi you'll get performance somewhere in between a single 7900GT and a 7900GTX (costs considerably more than two of these). alternatively you could buy one 7900GT and then another later down the line. that's the GREAT thing about SLi. so long as the two cards are the same (ie BOTH are 6X00 or 7X00) then you're fine.

Your build looks awesome and okat. It will work, and you're gonna be satisfied with it.
One suggestion, how can you know what PSU you're gonna get? They say 600W Super Quiet Quad Rail PSU, but that's not enough. You're gonna need a stable, realiable, branded PSU. Something i.e.: Antec, Enermax, Seasonic, Silverstone, Thermaltake, PCP&C, Fortron... etc. For more information about PSU's, check out the following sticky: here.

Ok thanks. I'll change the sound to the soundblaster audigy. I already emailed them about what make the graphics cards are and what kind of warranty they have, havn't got a reply yet. I'll ask them about the power supply after i get a reply. |

.which audigy did you select? the Audigy 4 is the best value one. i wouldn't recommend the X-FI. you don't need them unless you're a complete audiophile. and besides, creative aren't actually that good... .but otherwise, great rig. i hope you have a decent monitor and Internet connection . |

Thanks, but do they build it for you? or is it just to buy the components? I would rather pay a bit extra to not have to build it as i've never built one from scratch before and i could do without the stress ![]() |

Ah i didn't see that part before. Thanks for the link, it seems to have much more choice.
I might just copy you with the case and PSU Did you get yours? is it working ok? |
