Air brushed cases
Hello, I was wondering if any of you guys would be interested in buying an air brushed computer case or even sending me yours and having it airbrushed once I get my buesissnes set up.
Right now i'm looking for a good air brusher which shouldn’t take long and then, other then little thing I should have a site up with pics of his work. I’m just wondering if anyone would even be interested or if i’m wasting money trying to start my own little business at age 16.

I don't think he is airbrushing himself:

Sounds like he is just being the middle man, between the airbrush artist and us the consumer...

oh okay, I should have read it better. Still hard to trust a 16 year old with financial issues such as a business, I don't know. I am only 19 now, but I look at 16 year-olds now, and I am like, damn, they are gonna be running the country some day.

Wel a follow up on what i poseted. I found a two airbrushers and one was alot more skilled then the other. He would paint GREAT cases but may be charging a little to much for me to still make money. He said he would do one for about 25-40$ as a test cases so i could se hes work. He said 25-40$ would be dirt cheap and we could disscuss prices after that. Seeing i would buy a case for about 20-25$ and seeing he will charge me like 30-40$ a case im looking at 50-65$ breaking even. I would at least want to get 15$ proffit off each one. I think this may be a bust becouse 80$ a case is alot huh.

I don't think it is so bad.
What you should do is set up a site where you can choose from a range of cases. There is also the option of sending in designs or whatever, and basically make costings on if it is just a side panel, or the whole case etc.
The person ordering, will pick their case, where it will be sprayed, and then have a box where they write a description of what they want it to be like. You then will give them costings and if they agree, then you buy the case of somewhere cheap, and give it to the guy to get sprayed. you then send it on or get it picked up (which if delivered they would have paid for).
You won't be making huge profits, but you wont lose money. You only need to make like $20 to pay for the website, and then the only other thing is your time. Don't expect huge profits, but you should get some money...

There are several "local" computer stores in this area that have talked to us about doing case mods for them, to display and sell in their shops. Are there any shops like this were you are? If so, talk to them...show them som samples and see what they think they could sell these for. Am I understanding that YOU don't do the work yourself? You're getting someone else to do it? Just checking!
Some folks will spend a lot of $$ on something that is personalized...worth investigating a wee bit more!!!!

What i find is these cases are a great idea, and will look great too. But their's only a small minority that will pay for them, and it's going to be the price that puts off other potential customers. But like you said it would cost a fair amount to pay the artist, and still make a profit.
If setting up and running the business and running it is going to be free or cheap ie. no rent for a shop and hosting for a website etc. Then go ahead with it! But be sure to consider everything before you make any moves. Might also be worth talking to a business advisor of a bank or something similar if your going to put alot of time/effort/money into this

Hi davipaulo!
Welcome to DevH! Please, feel free to look and, and post (just be careful advertising for your company, you'll want to prove you're not just going to spam before posting about it).
Reading through the thread, it seems the original poster may have been looking to setup a similar business to what you're running. I don't think he was going to do the airbrushing, rather contract local artists to do the work for him, and charge a small markup.
He hasn't posted on this website in quite some time so he probably won't see your post. I haven't spoken to him through AIM in a long time, but if I see him come online, I'll let him know about your post, in case he did continue with this venture.
