Which tool do i use?

Really dumb question i think but which of the 3DMark tools do i use, 05, 03 or 2001 se?

I got 3DMark 05 and ran it but i got like 5 fps with a 2.4ghz, 1024 ram and a 5900 ultra 256MB card.
DirectX.c and latest drivers for the card installed.

I'm thinking that maybe there is certain criteria your setup must meet for each tool? Is 05 only for really top end cards and that i should use 03 or 2001?

nah, '03 is for FX series and 9xxx series, '01 is for anything, '05 is for Xxxx and 6xxx series.
can;t really get great results from '05 with last series cards. probs to do with dx9c. but theres no 'set' benchmark for anything. '01 probably the best ibndicator, but i'd go with aquamark, most userful benchmark i've used.

The problem is munchy, you can cheat at any of those other ones. 3Dmark01 is one of the last good benchmarks.
