True, to a point. But my ram is holding me back, if i had a stick of 3500 id score much higher, and my processor speed would come down. Im limited by the 3200. Your score owns, all im saying is this lvl1 is well worth paying a lil extra for as opposed to a regular pro. It has been rock solid so far. And even on OcSystems web site in the graph that they use to display the results, shows the largerst performance gain in moving from the stock pro to the lvl 1. This performance gain is larger than the gains achieved by the lvl2 or lvl3. Still wouldnt mind having a lvl 3 though.

Actually, Elessar has a damn good point. The Level 1 is a good price and actually clocked very fast. If I had to pay for one out of my pocket, that would more than likely be the one I would get. Still, my 3Dmark 0wnz!

I can understand paying a premium to get a card that does 415/750...... but 375/680 isnt really that high of an overclock for that card..... Orbital can clock his 9700p higher than that......... I think they sell those level I for people with no overclocking skills or something...... also theyre prolly wont oc much more than that as Ocsystems prolly pick the high overclocking card for the level II and III.....

A warranteed 50mhz overclock on core isnt that much, are you high? Again, i ask you to check oc's site, the graph they display with the performance of each card says it all. And also, none of the oc cards will clock much higher than they come, jus ask someone who has one. And as for orbitals card, well i dont know what he has. but id be willing to bet he had a gigabyte or a hercules. Each of which are great overclockers but is that oc you achieve covered under warranty????na its not. * And just for the record, i was able to run fine at 390/340. They do pick the best cards for the higher level pros but they use the same process with the lvl as the lvl2and lve3. And all 3 models have been volt modded. So what your saying is that you can understand paying 100 bucks for a card that is only 25mhz faster than mine( the lvl3) but yet you dont think the extra money i paid for my lvl1 is justified. You should do a lil more research before you make assumptions.
And oh yea, Speed, thanks for supporting my point. You are the 3dmark GOd. I bow down, humbled.

So whay doesn't someone just buy the Zalman cooler for a normal 9700 pro and overclock it on their own? I'm running at level 1 specs with the stock cooler.

You could certainly do that, the zalman however does require some additional active cooling, and i dont know how difficult it would be to install, prob not that hard. The oc cards however are not just ur run of the mill stock radeon pro, each is tested to find the best overclockable board, and each has been volt modded and comes with modded video bios. But if you can do all this yourself and dont care about a warranty, then i would say go for it.

Update: Using riva tuner i clocked up to 395/720. So, I would say that there is plenty of room left to oc. And oh yeah, i didnt pay any more for my card than a hercules or a gigabyte maya. Actually less! And my oc is covered under warrany..hahahahah. Peace
