Built 1st PC - 3DMark05 Score Low???
What's up?!?!
I just built my first PC and I think my 3DMark05 score is low, very low. Here's what I have:
AMD64 3700+ San Diego Core Socket 939
MSI K8N Neo4 SLI-F Mobo
eVga GeForce 6600GT 128mb PCI-E (Single Board)
2x512mb pc3200 DDR Corsair Value Select
120gb Seagate IDE 7200x
500 Watt Ultra V-Series PSU
My scores are only 2300. After reviewing 3DMark05 scores, I think my computer has the lowest score for the 3700 / 6600GT. I haven't overclocked anything yet because I want to be sure I'm getting full performance from my system (Only going to OC the video card anyway).
Thanks in advance!!!!!
Josh
Thanks everyone for your help. I'm a dumbaXX!!! I had my video card in the 2nd slot for SLI mode, so it was only running at 1X. Fixed it and my score is now where is should be: 3594

Download sisandra and run the benchmarks. When you veiw your scores you should be able to see what is holding you back. Make sure you compare it to similar things though.
My bet is on the video card though, as 3dmark is a video benchmark. Try reinstalling the graphics...

I've installed it a couple of times. Most recently I installed the one that 3DMark recommended. I uninstalled the old version first. I was comparing it to the most similar systems, same graphics (stock) same processors (or less), and I'm at the bottom of the totem pole.

check that you disabled vertical sync. or else you will get your refresh rate as max fps, and that will kill the score, ive lost a couple hundred with VSYNC on on my 9600.
of course, when you play games, i'd rather vertical sync on as i dislike page tearing, but i guess thats just personal taste.
and the guy compared seems to have overclocked his VCARD ram, which can also explain higher values and score. (around 90 mhz difference)
and FYI, my 9600 scores 2204, not super tweaked. so yes, your score would seem a bit low IMO. lol.
